Aria Pro II Magna Series MA-10 Burgundy Mist Metallic 1993

Aria Pro II Magna Series MA-10 Burgundy Mist Metallic 1993

Aria Pro II Magna Series MA-10, made in Korea 1992-6, in burgundy mist. Well well, that's quite a finish isn't it? The Magna series were an early 90s 'superstrat' style offering from Aria; there were several varieties in the line line offering various hardware combos. This one is one of the more Strat-like, with a simple trem and a cute HSS pickup set. The tone is balanced and even with a nice mix of bite and thump; easy to sculpt with your favourite nasty gain pedals. It's got a very playable neck: satin finish, slim and quick, shred-friendly flatter board, but with sensible medium frets and a nice round profile; not too flat on the back. The fancy neck joint allows for easy access all the way up to the 24th fret; handy for all those swept-arpeggios you've been relentlessly practising right? You could argue that a guitar like this ought to be black, but frankly, such an approach lacks imagination. Obviously your shredstick should be the colour of hairdresser's hatchback, right?
