Fender '57 Reissue Stratocaster ST57-70TX Vintage White 1999-02

Fender '57 Reissue Stratocaster ST57-70TX Vintage White 1999-02

Fender '57 Strat, crafted in Japan 99-02, vintage white. This little delight is very tasty indeed. Firstly, it looks good. The creamy vintage white finish pops perfectly against the golden-syrup maple board; it's a classic and classy look that'll tickle many fancies. The neck has the typical mildly-chunky '57 shape: intuitively round, big enough to add some fullness to the midrange... it's easy to like. The magic here is in the tone. The alder body and maple board offer a heap of brightness and spank, balanced with a thick, tight juicy bass response, all brought to life by some Texas Special pickups. The pickups are overwound, so they love a bit of gain, but they clean up brilliantly under a light touch or with the volume knob rolled back. This will easily rival most USA models for both feel and tone, it's a seriously good Strat. All hail the white Strat: king among guitars.

Model: Fender '57 Reissue Stratocaster  (ST57-70TX)
Made: Japan, Tokai Plant, (serial P027930)
Finish: vintage white (VWH), 1-ply white guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with maple board, dot inlays
Weight: 3.5kg approx
Mods: none
Pickups: Fender USA Texas Special singles
Case: basic gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock and neck pretty clean. The back has a handful of very light marks near are the cavity cover and in the body carve area, and there's a couple of short, barely visible cracks in the lacquer on the neck joint. The bottom edge has a couple of scuffs near the inout jack. There's a couple of dents on the front behind the bridge, some very light play wear on the top horn and guard and some uneven fading from a since-removed sticker near the middle pickup. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear but look pretty good, 7.5/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s.
