Fender '62 Reissue Stratocaster Walnut Limited Edition 1993/4

Fender '62 Reissue Stratocaster Walnut Limited Edition 1993/4

Fender '62 Strat, limited edition walnut model, made in Japan 1993/4. These limited run models popped up a few times from the mid 80s to the mid 90s, each time slightly different, but they never made it into any catalogs. This one dates to 1993/94, but it's in very tidy condition. The body is alder, stained to a deep walnut hue and then finished in satin. It really does look incredible, check out the pics! The stain extends all the way up the neck and over the headstock; and the satin finish neck really feels awesome in the hands. This fetched well over double the retail price of the basic '62 Strat in 1993, and being a very high end model, you get the good stuff: USA pickups, steel block bridge and a proper lacquer finish... it's classy. Sonically, this brings the goods: the tone is amazingly thick and full; you still get the cut, but it really has a lot of meat in the midrange. This is just back from a partial re-fret and full fret-dress from our local master luthier, so it's in great playing-shape with a wow-that's-low action. This absolutely rules, play yourself into ecstasy!

Model: Fender Stratocaster, '62 Reissue (ST62-115WAL)
Made: Japan, Fujigen Plant, 1993-1994 (serial N000076)
Finish: satin finish over walnut stain (WAL), 3-ply black guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Mods: pickguard replaced
Neck, middle and bridge pickup: Fender USA ST-singles
Case: non-original good quality gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The body is pretty clean, just a couple of dimples of the front and some rub-wear on the back. The guard is brand new; the old one was cracked so we sourced a replacement. There's some normal discolouration and pitting on the gold hardware, and the backplate is missing. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The guitar has just had a partial re-fret and full fret-dress, so the frets are in excellent condition with heaps of life, 9/10. Babe!
