Fender '73 Mustang MG73-CO Competition White 2006

Fender '73 Mustang MG73-CO Competition White 2006

Fender Mustang, white with a stripe, crafted in Japan 2005-6. Cool as a cucumber, right? Fender were doing Mustangs with a racing stripe in 1973, and for a year or two there Fender Japan were doing an MG73 model as a reissue of those original muscle-car influenced party machines. We haven't had a white one before: it's got a dashing navy blue stripe and the cute white button tuners adorning the matching headstock. It's a great look, no doubt about it. It's not just aesthetics though: this is so much fun. The neck is a slim little number with a short scale and a vintage C shape, which paired with the small body and cheeky trem makes for super easy playing. The tone on offer is punchy and immediate, with a walloping attack and naturally short sustain, perfect for punk, grunge and surf stuff. It doesn't take itself too seriously, it's just here for a good time and intends to look and sound great doing it. Just like yourself, yes?

The back has a chip on the bottom edge near in the waist area, as well as a dent and some scuffs in the middle of the body and some dimples near the neck plate and in the elbow area. The sides have a chip and some scuffs in the elbow area, as well as some dimples near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front has a chip and a couple of dents in the elbow area, dimples around the tailpiece and near the knobs and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear, 8/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
