Fender Classic Player Baja Telecaster Faded Sonic Blue 2015
Fender Baja Tele, faded sonic blue, made in Mexico 2015. This is nice, it's no surprise the Baja models enjoy a good reputation. Fender Custom Shop luthier Chris Fleming designed the model, which is (presumably?) named after the Baja California Peninsula in Northwestern Mexico. You get a classic 60s style Tele, but with a modern 9.5" radius neck, a '52/'58 set of American Vintage Tele single coil pickups, 4-way switching with series/parallel options and the S-1 switch to do a humbucker-type sound too. It all works together nicely: it's clear and full, with plenty of low end and a warm open midrange. The neck is comfy too, it works nicely without ever making you think too hard. When I first saw this I assumed the colour was olympic white; it wasn't until I saw it in the more neutral light of the photo booth I realised it had a greenish/blue tinge about it... turns out the finish is called 'faded sonic blue', which is a nice touch. Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has no major marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has some scuffs on the neck plate and some light scuffs on the bottom corner and back edge. The sides have minor scuffs on the top and bottom horns. The front has light scuffs in elbow area and some minor play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
