Fender Japan '57 Reissue Precision Bass PB57-53 Sunburst 1993/4

Fender Japan '57 Reissue Precision Bass PB57-53 Sunburst 1993/4

Fender '57 Precision Bass, 2-tone sunburst, made in Japan 1993/4. These maple-board P models are a bit harder to track down than the regular '62 rosewood models, and they're a noticeably brighter and punchier tone. This one is crazy light in weight; a standard P is around 4.4kg, this one is a mere 3.7kg. That means it's easy on the shoulders, but it also means the body is extremely resonant. You can feel an amazing amount of vibration pulsing through the wood; it's quite remarkable. That gives it a good honest tone: heaps of thump and low end, a snappy treble and a complex, buttery midrange. It's a lot of fun to play! Two-tone burst is a sweet simple vintage finish; it looks great against the aged white guard and the golden maple board. These Fujigen-era basses are beautifully made, classically styled a joy to play; there's a reason they're in increasingly high demand.

Model: Fender Japan'57 Reissue Precision Bass, PB57-53

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some very minor dimples on the end. The neck is pretty clean, no major marks. The back has a handful of minor marks on the top horn, along the body carve, around the outside edge along the top and a couple near the middle. The sides are pretty clean, just a few marks on the shoulder area and around from the knobs. The front is in great shape, just a handful of dimples on the shoulder area, behind the bridge and near the jack. Overall: very good condition (8.5/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look good, minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
