Fender Japan '62 Jazz Bass JB62-75US Lake Placid Blue 2004

Fender Japan '62 Jazz Bass JB62-75US Lake Placid Blue 2004

Fender '62 Jazz Bass, lake placid blue, crafted in Japan 2004-5. This is a sleek creature, it's very stylish indeed. We tend to get plenty of these through in black, red or sunburst, but lake placid blue is a seldom-seen treat. It's a lovely finish, the subtle sparkle brings out the best in the deep grey blue. This is the high-end version of the '62 Jazz from the mid 2000s catalog, so you get an alder body, spiral saddle bridge and USA pickups. That adds up to a balanced, nuanced, articulate tone plugged in. There's a snappy sweetness to the top end that complements the assured, round low end perfectly. The neck is a classic slim shape that sits in the hand with ease, paired with the lightweight body it just never feels like work to play. This would be a great gigging bass for a busy player or a handy studio companion.
