Fender Japan '62 Precision Bass PB62-500 Sunburst 1990
Fender '62 P, sunburst, made in Japan 1990. First up, this straight-up looks cool. The sunburst has a sweet mellow orange tint to it, three decades of ageing has done it nought but favours. Paired with the dark tort guard and an unusually dark rosewood board, this looks so classy. It's also super light at 3.8kg, a good half a kilo lighter than most Ps. That lends it an immediate attack and a pronounced, rounded natural low end, which balances out the punchy P midrange really nicely. The neck is a very pretty piece of maple and feels very friendly and natural in the hands. Simple, understated, slick, effective.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has a couple light scuffs and dimples around the body, no major marks. The sides have minor dimples around the whole body, no major marks. The front has a couple of dimples in the elbow area and on the top horn, as well as mild play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look good, minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
