Fender Japan '65 Reissue Stratocaster ST65-85TX Matching Headstock Old Candy Apple Red 2002-4

Fender Japan '65 Strat, old candy apple with matching headstock, CIJ 2002-04. This is quite the oddity; it's certainly the first of this model we've ever come across or seen for sale. The 1965 model Strat is very similar to the much loved and frequently reissued 1962 model: it shares the same neck profile and fretboard style, the same tuners and bridge, and the same pickguard and headstock shape, but it's got the very cool CBS-era bold gold logo and unusually, a matching old candy apple headstock. It really can't be overstated just how exceptional this looks: it's unreasonably stunning, truly. Aside from having a distinct twist-on-the-classic look, this brings the A-game all around. The neck is slick and slim, the rounded profile is instantly familiar and extremely playable. Tone-wise, the alder body brings a balanced midrange and airy openness to the hot, chiming, scooped tone of the Texas Special pickups. This really eats up a light overdrive with great enthusiasm; it's very much a great sounding Strat. If you're enchanted by this saucy item, act fast as the chances of seeing another one around is very slim indeed.
