Fender Japan '70 Precision Bass PB70-70US Olympic White 1998

Fender Japan '70 Precision Bass PB70-70US Olympic White 1998

Fender P, '70 Reissue, aged olympic white finish, crafted in Japan 1997-00. The big bold headstock on these CBS era models has won many fans, and in combination with a classic reverse-tuxedo finish like this, it really does look great. The olympic white is showing some signs of it's two decades on the planet; it's cool to see the hours of play peeping through in a subtle way. These were a deluxe model in their day, so you get a USA pickup and an alder body, which adds up to a sweet well balanced tone with plenty of definition and punch. This will compete very favourably with USA-made models; it's a superb bass. P for 'proper cool'.

Model: Fender Precision Bass '70 Reissue, PB70-70US
Made: Japan, 1997-00, Dyna plant (serial O076583)
Finish: olympic white, 3-ply black guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood board, 7.25" radius, 34" scale
Weight: 4.010kg
Mods: none
Pickup: Fender USA P-Bass Vintage split single coil
Case: very basic gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a couple of little marks on the end of the headstock. Neck is nice and clean. The back has a handful of light scratches and dimples spread around the place and some discoloured spots here and there. The sides are pretty clean, just minor dimples on the top horn, shoulder and near the knobs. The front has some discoloured patches and spots around the body and some normal play wear on the guard and top horn, no major marks. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look good with minor wear only; 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
