Fender Japan '70 Reissue Precision Bass PB70-70US Olympic White 1999-02

Fender Japan '70 Reissue Precision Bass PB70-70US Olympic White 1999-02

Fender P, '70 Reissue, aged olympic white finish, crafted in Japan 1999-02. The big bold headstock on these CBS era models has won many fans, and in combination with a classic reverse-tuxedo finish like this, it really does look great. Olympic white is a dream finish on a P, it's just superb. The neck on this is marginally slimmer than the more common '62 model, and this one is sporting a particularly fine dark-chocolate rosewood board; it's easy on the eyes and the hands. The alder body and USA pickup offer bright, balanced, warm growl with a heap of roundness and class; it's a cut above the basic models and will easily rival any USA offering. Perfect starts with a 'P', you know?

Model: Fender Precision Bass '70 Reissue, PB70-70US
Made: Japan, 2002-04, Tokai plant (serial P071441)
Finish: olympic white, 3-ply black guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Weight: 4.2kg approx
Mods: strap pins replaced
Pickup: original Fender USA P-Bass Vintage split single coil
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a couple of little marks on the end of the headstock. Neck is fairly clean, just  a ouple of very shallow scratches near the body join. The back has a handful of very light scratches and dimples spread around the place, but they're all very small and only visible on the right angle. There's a few mottling marks and light scratches extending around the edges. The front is pretty clean, just some normal play scratches on the guard and top horn, a little dent on the edge up from the pickup and a few marks above the bridge area. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look pretty good with some normal wear; 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
