Fender Japan '72 Stratocaster ST72-58 Black 1993
Fender '72 Stratocaster, black, made in Japan 1993-4. These 'big headstock' Strats look awesome and always turn heads in the shop. The bold black logos on the headstock tie in really nicely with the classic tuxedo finish, it's a great balance of upmarket class and streetsmart swagger. The neck is a typical moderate 70s U shape, which is comfy in the hands and has weathered the decades with dignity. Plugged in, you get heaps of brightness and chime, a tasty reference to the snappy tone from USA-made seventies Strats, but without any of the quality control issues. It's especially good for sharp funky lead lines and choppy chords, there's heaps of definition and charm. Very good!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some minor scuffs on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back and very slight swelling of the skunk stripe only. The back has a couple of dimples along the belly carve and widespread light scuffs, no major marks. The sides have some minor dimples on the horns, nothing nasty. The front has some very light scuffs around the jack and elbow area and some play wear on the guard and top horn, no major marks. Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is very low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s Moonshiners strings.
