Fender Japan '75 Reissue Jazz Bass JB75-90US Vintage White

Fender Japan '75 Reissue Jazz Bass JB75-90US Vintage White

Fender Japan '75 Jazz Bass, crafted in Japan 2002-04, olympic white finish. These '75 style models always attract attention; the bound board and block inlays is very appealing to a lot of players. We've had a few examples of this model through, and all of them have been maple fretboard; this is the first one we've ever scored with the beautiful, dark-choc rosewood board. Aside from the board, olympic white is a non-catalog finish; they usually only come in natural or sunburst, and the tort guard is also unusual. It all adds up to looking quite stunning; it's got a strong, sleek aesthetic that's instantly charismatic. This model packs a nice set of USA pickups and an American light ash body, lending it a huge amount of tonal punch. The tone is thick, full, warm, immediate and responsive; it's got an instant fatness that's a delight to hear. The neck is very mildly chunkier than a '62 model; it feels perfectly weighted and is very smooth in the hands. This was the priciest J-bass in the 2002 catalog; it really has the class to back that up too. It may cause you some difficulty though: it's difficult to look away, and it's difficult to put down!

Model: Fender Jazz Bass, '75 Reissue (JB75-90US)
Made: Japan, 2002-04, Tokai plant (serial Q005597)
Finish: natural gloss, 3-ply white guard
Body: light weight ash
Neck: maple with maple board, mother-of-pearl block inlays
Mods: none
Weight: 3.9kg approx
Pickup: Fender Vintage JB singles
Case: very basic gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's some very minor dents on the body: above the bridge pickup, on the top horn, on the back near the neck plate and near the body carve. There's some light buckle-rash on the back and some play-wear on the guard on the front, as well as some minor clouding on the chrome. Looking very tidy. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor play-wear, but they're in great shape; 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
