Fender Japan Catalina YC-38H Parlour Acoustic 1987

Fender Japan Catalina YC-38H Parlour Acoustic 1987

Fender Japan Catalina parlour acoustic, trans gloss red, made in Japan 1986-7. If you've been following the store for more than five minutes, you'll know we move a lot of Fender Japan guitars... possibly over a thousand in the last few years. In all that time, I've never once come across an acoustic made by Fender in Japan like this one before. I'm not sure how many of these were made, but it can't be very many. It's. acute little parlour size body, similar to a Martin 0 or 00 in dimensions, paired with a neck that's akin to a '57 style Strat in shape and feel. It's got a Strat-style headstock too, which is a cool little visual touch. Now, to be honest, most Fender acoustics are pretty bad. But, this one feels and sounds good. It's got a certain punchy midrange, as is the goal with a parlour style, so it's perfect for snappy bluesy or surf stuff. This is a cool and curious little piece, it's sure to make someone feel good.

The sides have no major marks, just general rub wear and light scuffs.
