Fender Japan Jaguar JG66-75 Vintage White 1993
Fender Jag, vintage white, made in Japan 1993-4. Creamy, well played-in goodness. Here we have a rare Fujigen Gakki made example of the classic Fender Japan Jaguar. The neck, as such, is brilliant. It's an arrow-straight, beautifully grained piece of maple, aged to a rich golden brown and paired with a tasty dark choc rosewood board... delight to the eyes, smooth as custard in the hands. The body is lively and resonant and the guitar feels very alive when you play it... it's absolutely got pizzaz. By far the most common finishes seen on MIJ Jags are sunburst and red, so a sweet aged white finish is a pleasure to see. There's a few marks to show an honest working past, but vintage white is one of those finishes that looks better a little beaten; plus the buttery hue pops perfectly against the aged red tort guard. The signature 'Jag Jangle' is certainly on offer: this one has a tasty thick bottom end complemented by a sizzling, snappy top and short sustain. There's certainly a lot to love here, so don't leave it hanging around with me too long; it deserves better!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some marks on the end, a burn mark near the low E tuner and some rash around the string posts. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, just a couple of minor dimples on the back. The back has a bunch of light scuffs around the outside edge and a couple of sticker fade marks, nothing nasty. The sides have a few little things: dimples on the top horn, scuffs around the rest of the body; nothing nasty. The front has a decent chip in the elbow area; otherwise it's just dimples around the knobs and tailpiece and play wear on the guard and tp horn. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. There's some normal fret wear, nothing too nasty, 7/10 for fret life left. All electrics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
