Fender Japan Jaguar JG66-85 Sunburst 2004

Fender Japan Jaguar JG66-85 Sunburst 2004

Fender Jag, sunburst, crafted in Japan 2004-5. The Jag has always oozed cool; it's got a natural swagger unrivalled by almost all comers. This one sports the classic red-tort/three-tone-burst combo which is always a winner. The burst on this one looks particularly tasty: the black around the edges seems a little wider, plus there's some really pretty grain lines that really make the red to yellow fade pop hard. The Mustang bridge is a sensible mod; it saves the 'string slippage' issue you sometimes get on the spiral style standard bridge. This one jangles like a pro, but there's plenty of heft and punch on tap if you dial it in right. It's hard to argue: this one rules.

Model: Fender Jaguar '66 reissue (JG66-85)
Made: Japan, Dyna plant, 2004-5 (serial R072149)
Finish: 3-tone sunburst (3TS) , 3-ply red tort guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Weight: 3.855kg
Mods: bridge replaced with Mustang style
Pickup: Fender Japan JG-Single x2
Case: basic non original gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: Minor finish wear. Headstock has a couple of light marks on the end and bottom edge. The neck is pretty clean and feels smooth; just a couple of dimples on the back. The back has some reasonable scuffs in the middle and a few dimples and marks around the body, nothing nasty though. The sides have a few minor marks: dimples on the top horn and elbow area, scuffs near the jack. The front is pretty tidy, just a couple of dimples in the elbow area and near the jack and some play wear on the guard and horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have some normal wear, they're pretty even and don't need immediate attention; 6/10 for fret life left. All electrics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
