Fender Japan Standard Stratocaster ST-43 Shell Pink 1999-02

Fender Japan Standard Stratocaster ST-43 Shell Pink 1999-02

Fender Japan J-Craft Standard Strat, shell pink, crafted in Japan 1999-02. These Japan Standard models are great little performers: no nonsense, all feel. The neck is slim and similar to a '62 Reissue model, but has a satin finish and a modern 9.8" radius, so it's naturally quick and easy to play. The tone is simple Strat sass: heaps of spank and sparkle with a controlled bass and a articulate voice; it really does sound great. The shell pink finish is a non-catalog anomaly; it's yellowed over the decades to a sweet peachy orange that'll surely attract some adoration and a little dash of shade for good measure. Overall: simple and effective but looks very good doing it.

Model: Fender Japan J-Craft Standard Stratocaster (ST-43)
Made: Japan, Tokai plant, 1999-02 (serial P004286)
Finish: shell pink (SLP)
Body: basswood
Weight: 3.650kg
Neck: maple with rosewood board, satin finish, 9.8" radius, 25.5" scale
Mods: pots replaced
Pickup: original Fender Japan ST-Current single coils
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's some minor marks around the end of the headstock. The neck is pretty clean with very minor dimples only. The back has a few marks spread around the edge and around the cavity. Back cover is missing. The sides have a fair few dings and scuffs, concentrated mostly around from the jack, but also on both horns, the shoulder area and near the rear strap pin. The front has a few small marks but nothing nasty: near the jack, in the shoulder area and on both horns. There's some normal play scratches on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are looking pretty good, just some normal play wear; 7/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 11/49s.
