Fender Japan Standard Stratocaster ST43 Capri Orange 2000

Fender Japan Standard Stratocaster ST43 Capri Orange 2000

Fender Japan J-Craft Standard Strat, capri orange, crafted in Japan 1999-02. This one is pretty hard to miss! Capri orange is one of those cool non-catalog anomalies that pops up very occasionally; it's a superbly bright and sunny hue befitting of a gumball, muscle car or traffic cone. Paired with a streaky rosewood board and some lightly aged off-white plastics, it's a great looking Strat, no bones about it. These Japan Standard models have a great neck: modern C shape, slim and round like a '62 Strat, modern bend-friendly 9.8" radius, slick satin finish... it's all sass in the hands; it virtually plays itself. The classic single coil pickups deliver an eloquent and balanced take on the Strat-spank: heaps of rounded, thick bass and a crystal clear chiming top end. These come up semi-regularly in the sunburst/black/white type finishes, but this is the first example we've managed to score in this finish. Now, where to score a matching muscle car?
