Fender Japan Telecaster Thinline TN70/MAHO Natural 2012

Fender Japan Telecaster Thinline TN70/MAHO Natural 2012

Fender '70 Tele Thinline, natural mahogany gloss, made in Japan 2012. This is a superb Tele, no doubt about it. You see the '72 style Thinline Tele, with the ash body and two humbuckers, around semi-regularly, but these 1970 reissue models with two single coil pickups and a mahogany body come around far less often. It's a formidable combo: the typical Tele brightness and twang is paired with a gooey, warm, thick, expressive midrange. It's simultaneously airier and fatter than a regular Tele, the richness of the mahogany adds a lot of sauce to the midrange and the semi-hollow construction adds a certain plonky beef to the low end. It's gorgeous on open chords especially, but will happily cross over to expressive lead lines for the fast-fingered among us. The natural gloss finish paired with the golden maple board and the white pearl guard is a great look too; very classy. Plus, it's got a sweet slim neck and is light as a feather... perfect for those long nights. I really love this one, claim it before I change my mind!
