Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst 1998
Gibson LP Classic, honeyburst, made in USA 1998. The 90s era Classic model was basically a 1960 reissue model, not dissimilar in many ways from the current Custom Shop R0. As such, you get the small headstock, pearl inlaid logo, trap inlays, a little '1960' decal on the guard, a slim neck and a pair of uncovered humbuckers. This one is wearing a gorgeous coat of honeyburst, which lets the unassuming grain lines of the thick plain maple top shine through beautifully. The neck is a moderately slim 1960 style shape; it's a little bigger than some other examples of this model we've had through, but still on the slim and quick end of things. The back appears to be one piece, which is pretty wild: you've got to part with a chunk of change to score that on a new example. The sound is pure LP goodness: thick and warm, heaps of midrange kick on the bridge, singing sustain and lots liveliness in the high end. What a honey!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end, scuffs on the sides and on the front around some of the posts. The is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and some rub wear and hazing on the back only. The back has a bald patch on the top edge near the switch cavity, scuffs and on the top shoulder, dimples and rub wear on the bottom horn, dimples around the control cavity, sticker fade marks in the middle of the body and some scuffs and dimples along the back edge and elbow area. The sides have dimples on the top horn and elbow area, scuffs along the back edge and near the jack and some dimples on the bottom horn. The front has scuffs around the knobs, dimples around the bridge and tailpiece, dimples in the elbow area and plenty of play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 7/10, normal wear but playing evenly with no major buzz issues
