Gibson SG Special Pelham Blue 2019
Gibson SG Special, pelham blue, made in USA 2019. Good golly, what a beauty! The SG Special was a stripped down version of the Standard for a while, but this one is the more recent version which harks back to the original 60s SG Special. As such, this gets a pair of punchy P-90s, a wrap-around bridge and the half guard, paired with the classy bound fretboard and white button tuners. Frankly, it's cute as hell. The tone on offer is very convincing: bright and snappy through the top end, searing attack, open and expressive mids and a fast, tuneful bass. The neck is a 'slim taper' shape, which I'd describe as a moderately sized D-style shape; slightly square at the edges and not too thick. The neck is comfy and the lightweight body make for an easy player, it's very good. Pelham blue is a superb finish, and this one is just starting to yellow a little and develop some checking lines... it's most beautiful years are still in front of it. Includes the fancy case and all the docs.

Cosmetic condition notes: Minor finish wear. The headstock has some checking lines on the end and back. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back only. The back has light scuffs in the middle of the body and in the elbow area and some scuffs near the cavity. The sides have some dimples near the jack. The front has some checking lines around the bridge posts and switch, dimples around the knobs, scuffs around the bridge and elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
