Greco Mint Collection SS63-60 SG Style White 1988
Greco SS63-60 SG style, made in Japan 1988, white. There's some Greco models you see around a fair bit, and some you just don't. This SG-Special-style beauty from the famed Mint Collection series is definitely not something you see every day. The suave reverse-tuxedo look hits the classic mean curves of the body perfectly, it's equal parts charming and savage. The vintage 'Hot Lick' (who named that!?) pickups dole out the goodness: thick, saucy mids and tight lows with an airy, open treble that cuts through the mix perfectly. There's a responsiveness and snap to this that's very pleasing indeed. The neck is moderate;y shaped, neither too thick nor too thin, and manages to avoid the dreaded SG-neck-dive; this sits perfectly on a strap and is very well balanced. This is a proper rock and roll guitar; it's got that classy vintage Japanese craftsmanship combined with a whole stack of swagger and attitude. Yeah!

Cosmetic condition notes: Minor finish wear. There's some small chips on the corners of the headstock. Neck is pretty clean with only minor dimples. The back has a few marks: a chip on the top edge approx 20mm long, some scuffs along the back edge near the strap pin, a little (3mm) chip on the bottom edge near the cavity cover and some light buckle rash. The front is pretty cleanjust a couple of little dents on the shoulder area, near the knobs and up from the bridge, as well as some minor play scratches. Overall: good condition (7.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have some minor wear, heaps of height left and very even; 810 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
