Greco TVB-650 Short Scale Bass Cherry 1989

Greco TVB-650 Short Scale Bass Cherry 1989

Greco TVB-650, cherry red, made in Japan 1988. Here's one you seldom see! This model was part of Greco's 'Power Rock Bass' line-up in the late 80s; Gibson inspired basses with plenty of attitude. This model seems to have basically taken the double cut Les Paul Junior body shape and turned it into a cool short scale bass. It's got a handy high mass bridge, quality Gotoh tuners and a sturdy set neck joint, so it's super sturdy in the hands and hold tune nicely. The mahogany body and humbuckers deliver a focussed, barking midrange that sits nicely in a mix; it's got plenty of heft and a nice punchy attack and short sustain. The neck is a cooperative slim C style shape and the body is moderately light, so it's an easy player. Even Google can barely find this model, so if you like it, don't wait for the next one to come along as you might be waiting for a while!

The front has some scratches around the bridge, scuffs in the elbow area, dimples near the knobs and some play wear on both horns; nothing nasty though. Overall: good condition (7/10)
