Guild M-25E Concert Acoustic/Electric 2022

Guild M-25E Concert Acoustic/Electric 2022

Guild M-25E, sunburst finish, made in USA 2022. Guild have been through a few changes over the years, but they've always made terrific instruments. This is a very recent model, made in California to a very high standard. The body shape references their classic 1967 M-20 model, a classic of the concert-body genre. The gloss nitro finished top adds a bit of visual sheen, but also adds a bit of extra snap and chime to the tone. Being a small body made from solid African mahogany, it's got a disarming warmth and complexity to the tone. It's awesome for fingerstyle stuff, but it lends rhythm parts a certain balance and roundness too. This would be a superb gigging guitar: it sounds excellent plugged in or acoustic, it's very comfy and unassuming to play, and it looks classy as heck. Guild are America's most underrated guitar maker... change my mind.
