Guild Westerly Collection D-1212E 12-String Acoustic/Electric 2022
Guild D-1212E, made in China circa 2022, natural gloss. The Westerly Collection is Guild's throwback to their early days making guitars in Westerly, Rhode Island. They're made in China these days, to a very good standard, reinventing designs and models from the 50s and 60s when Guild was a fresh force in the guitar universe. This is all solid African mahogany: heck, that's a lot of nice timber, and the ribboned and smudged grain patterns on show on the top are gorgeous. The neck treads a reasonable balance between manageable string spacing and keeping the neck fairly slim, so it's pretty straightforward to play. The sound is great: jangly and jovial with a lovely warm undercurrent, there's a lot to like. The onboard pickup is simple but handy. This is heaps of 12 for the cash, and it sure does look juicy.

The front has minor scuffs in the elbow area and some minor play wear on the guard and shoulders.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. Setup with light gauge strings.
