Hagstrom D2F Deluxe-F Mandarin Burst 2007
Hagstrom Deluxe-F, mandarin burst, made in China 2007. Hagstrom are a Swedish brand dating back to the 60s; their designs have that particular Scandinavian flair for sleek lines and understated elegance. The Deluxe-F is a modified version of their iconic Swede model, with a semi-hollow body, flame maple top, floating tailpiece and updated electronics. It's a striking instrument: the vibrant orange, bound headstock with deco tuners, plump F-hole... it looks great. The neck is a fairly slim C style shape with a pretty flat board and tall frets, so despite the vaguely jazz-stylings, this is pretty shreddable. The tone is in the LP-genre, but the semi-hollow body adds a little extra space through the midrange, adding a bit of depth and woodiness to the tone. It's equally happy playing dense jazz chords into a clean amp or doing nasty big rock rhythm stuff. I must admit we all had a chuckle about the guitar being called a D2F... anyhow, I'll leave that well alone for now. Haggin' good stuff.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has no major marks. Th neck is pretty clean, minor dimples on the back only. The back has a couple of dimples near the switch cavity and some light scuffs in the middle of the body and along the back edge. The sides have a couple of minor dimples on both horns and some light scuffs in the elbow area. The front has a minor scratch near the pickup split switch as well as some minor scuffs from play on the horns. Overall: excellent condition (9/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have very little wear, they're in great shape, 9/10. Setup with fresh 11/49s.
