History MMDS Mini ST-Style Light Blue Metallic 2002

History MMDS Mini ST-Style Light Blue Metallic 2002

History MMDS Mini Strat style, blue metallic, made in Japan 2002. History does does well in Japan, it's all made by the iconic Fujigen Gakki factory and sold through the Shimamura group of stores. In 2002, History released a 'kids catalog', with two bass models and three electric guitars, all in small sizes. The fun thing about this: it's not a toy, it's made to be a really great instrument. It's got Gotoh tuners, a quality intonatable bridge, great fretwork, proper tonewoods... it's a proper Strat, but tiny. At 2kg and 24cm across, it will just about fit in a backpack. The neck is slim, but with a 38mm nut not dissimilar to a Mustang, it's genuinely playable and not too cramped. The pickups deliver the goods too: it sounds great. Chiming and clear, with a strong fundamental note and a rounded low end. The blue finish with matching headstock looks a treat too, so cute. This is a whole lot of fun, it's the perfect couch companion.
