Hofner Contemporary Series 500/7 Verythin Bass Antique Brown 2011
Höfner Verythin bass, antique brown, made in China 2011. It's hard to separate classic 60s tunes and Höfner basses; there was a time when they reigned supreme. This is a modern reissue, made in China but to a very good standard. The flame maple top has a tasty subtle grain and boasts quietly under the cool antique burst finish. The neck is a classic Hof shape, so it doesn't taper like a standard bass but stays pretty slim and straight the whole way up the neck. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it has a certain charm to it. Tone-wise, this has that thumpy warm lo-fi thickness to it that'll slot right into vintage style tunes... tasty. It takes a particular cool cat to understand the gory of this, but to the right eye, this is certainly a thing of beauty.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock and neck pretty clean, no major marks. The back has a couple of light scuffs, no major marks. The sides are also nice and clean, just a dimple on the lower horn. The front is good too, just light play wear around the strings. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have basically no wear, 10/10 for life left. Set up with Hofner strings.
