Ibanez ATK300 Bass Snow White 2005

Ibanez ATK300 Bass Snow White 2005

Ibanez ATK300, snow white, made in Japan 2005. These ATK models are such great little basses, I reckon they're super underrated. There's some obvious nods to the Musicman Stingray in the aesthetic, but these have a certain thing going on that's all their own. The Triple Coil pickup comes with a three way tone switch with single coil, all three and an out-of-phase snappy tone; all options fun and totally usable in different situations. There's more than enough heft on deck to cover heavy stuff with ease, but it's smooth and articulate enough to do just about anything you need it to. The neck is a three-piece 'wizard' neck, so it's super sturdy and rigid and feels like a million bucks. The white finish has a few knocks to keep it honest and has yellowed to a carbonara creamy hue, so it's looking saucy. A year or two after this was made Ibanez moved production to Indonesia, so scoring a Japanese-made example like this is a rare treat. ATK= awesome, terrific, kool.
