Ibanez Prestige RG5120M Frosted Blue 2022

Ibanez Prestige RG5120M Frosted Blue 2022

Ibanez Prestige RG5120M, frosted blue, made in Japan 2022. This is one ultra-dialled shredstick. A Prestige RG is a glorious beast; super fast neck, extremely well made, reliable hardware, versatile sound. This one is a recent example, but in a now discontinued frosted style finish, which has a bit of steampunk swagger to it. The neck really is magic: super stable owing to the 5-piece Wizard construction, slim and flat on the back with that typical Ibanez D style shape, luminous side inlays and jumbo stainless frets. The Fishman Fluence pickup set are very good too. There's a handy little voicing switch between the knobs, offering a thicker rounder sound or a more raspy, snarly tone with more presence on the highs. You can dial a very clear, aggressive dirty sound, but you can also get some pretty warm, balanced cleans out of it too. These don't come up used very often around here, so RG yourself like a boss and call it a day.
