Lakewood A-14 CP Auditorium Model Acoustic/Electric 2011

Lakewood A-14 CP Auditorium Model Acoustic/Electric 2011

Lakewood A-14 CP, natural satin, made in Germany 2011. This is a classy acoustic, that's for sure. Lakewood guitars were one of the first prominent builders of steel string acoustics out of Germany; master luthier Martin Seeliger came from building classical style guitars and brought a lot of experience from that field into the steel string space. This is built from tasty solid tonewoods: spruce, mahogany and ebony, and nice pieces at that. The thin satin finish looks and feels luxurious and lets the wood breathe, allowing the character of the timber to speak. This has an exceptionally balanced tone: even, nuanced sustain, crisp tight lows, full mids and a talkative, clear treble. It's a sound that grows on you with more play: being so clear and even, it doesn't have the immediate sugary hit of a martin or Gibson, but it's so well balanced that you find yourself wanting to hear more and more. The neck is a nice halfway between a wider classical style neck and a slim Martin style shape, perfect for fingerstyle playing as it gives your hand room to play accurately. These fetch a small fortune brand new, so this almost minty example makes for a clever buy. Sleek!
