MJT 'Nero' ST-Style Partscaster HS Relic Black 2020
'Nero' Partscaster build, made in Australia circa 2020, relic black finish. This is a great guitar, it's got a lot of personality. We got it off a Topshelf regular, who always picks good ones, although he wasn't the original architect. First up, the headstock has a legit Nero-era Roman denarius coin attached, hence the name. The coin is worth a few bucks on it's own, but it looks so fetch there it was a shame to remove it. The neck is by USA parts makers Musikraft, and it's a very agreeable modern C shape with a gorgeous ebony fretboard and a set of shred-friendly medium jumbo frets. It feels great, it's quick and slick and feels very reliable in the hand. The body is by MJT, USA-based mastermind Mark Jenny's very well renowned operation doing relic finish bodies to a very high standard. The finish looks great: the checking is super cool, the bald patches look natural and it just has that swagger about it. The pickups are classy too. The neck is a Dimarzio Blue Velvet, which is a slightly overwound vintage style single coil, which delivers a thick, glassy and shimmering take on the classic Strat neck tone. The bridge pickup is a low wind Imperial humbucker by unmatched tonehounds Lollar, and it rules: articulate, breathy, complex and rich with a glorious wide midrange. The switching is nice and simple and the hardware is nice and sturdy, so you'll have no issues there at all. This is so much guitar for the cash it's bananas. All hail Nero.

Cosmetic condition notes: relic finish. The headstock has minor dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. Describing marks on the body seems superfluous given it's a relic finish, so let's just say there's scuffs, dimples, bald patches and checking all over the body.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
