Morris W-60 Dreadnought Acoustic Natural 1980

Morris W-60 Dreadnought Acoustic Natural 1980

Morris W-60, made in Japan 1980, natural gloss. Morris launched in 1967 under the watchful eye of master luthier Toshio "Mori" Moridaira, going on to become one of the biggest names in acoustic guitars in Japan. You can still buy a new Morris today, they offer some really beautiful instruments. This one is a Martin style dreadnought and dates to 1980, which was a bit of a golden age for acoustic guitars in Japan. It's a high end model, so it's all solid... heck, that three piece back is especially beautiful, showing off some gorgeous rosewood and flame maple. The neck  is a comfy soft V shape, and with a fresh nut and saddle, it's playing really nicely. The tone is lovely too: loud, dry, full and with plenty of low end punch. The little visual details, like the hex inlays, seven ply binding, fancy rosette and vintage style headstock decal all add some class too, it's very slick. Very nice!
