Squier MIJ Silver Series Stratocaster Satin Green 1994/5

Squier MIJ Silver Series Stratocaster Satin Green 1994/5

Squier SST33 Silver Series Strat, made in Japan in 1994/5, refinished to satin green. The Silver Series heralded a return to Japanese manufacturing for Squier, and were very well received at the time owing to the excellent build quality from the legendary Fujigen factory. This one has been refinished in a colour we're dubbing 'The Incredible Hulk Green'; it's a thin satin finish in a sherwood green type hue. It looks cool against the black hardware and rosewood board, and it opens up the tone a little compared to regular factory poly. The neck is brilliant, it features some incredible flame maple that really ought belong to a much pricier guitar; it feels outstanding in the hands. The classic Strat-spank is there in spades, it's got a great fast attack and balanced midrange. This is a really cool MIJ Strat for a killer dollar, you really can't go too wrong.

Model: Squier Silver Series Stratocaster, SST33-M model
Made: Japan (Fujigen plant) ,1994/95 (serial S007656)
Finish: refinished in satin forest green, black 3-ply guard
Body: 'wood fibre', looks like basswood
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Mods: refinished, bridge replaced
Pickups: original Fender Japan ST Single
Case: very basic gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The finish is quite soft, so there's a but of rub wear on the front near the rear strap pin and in the body carve area. The guard has some play scratches and the chrome has some pitting. The back is a little more worn (see pics), there's some contact wear around the place as well as scuffs along the edge near the strap pin and around from the knobs. The neck and headstock are yellowed but fairly clean with just a few nicks here and there. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have very minor wear, around 7.5/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46s.
