Used Ludwig Jazz Festival Snare Drum Blue/Gold Duco 1964
Ludwig Jazz Festival snare drum, blue and gold duco finish, 1964. This is very nice indeed! These old 3-ply mahogany-poplar-mahogany shells have an amazing warmth and body to the tone, they're full and mellow in a way that can't really be replicated by new drums. It has a big strong fundamental tone and is easy to tune up and down; it's very simple to pull a great sound out of. The drum is in pretty good players' condition and the duco finish has aged significantly but gracefully, it really has a beautiful vintage look. You won't find many of these on this side of the pacific, especially looking this good for this dollar... very tasty.

Condition notes: Painted finish has worn significantly as shown, but isn't actively peeling off and should hold up fine for a long while yet. Shell is in round. Chrome is in fair condition with some noticeable aging including minor pitting. There's minimal rust on the hoops, butt plate and throw, but the tension rods have discoloured a lot and have a little rust. Throw-off and internal dampener work fine. Tunes up easily, no issues with lugs or tension rods. Overall: good condition.
