Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors The Thylacine Fuzz Pedal
The Thylacine is a high-end modern reimagining of the iconic Tone Bender 1.5 fuzz circuit. This beautiful example features a pair of Mullard/Philips OC45 and OC79 transistors. It's a smooth, singing fuzz with a complex spread of frequencies and a lovely expressive bloom. It's on the darker side of the fuzz spectrum, with a deep and rich voice. It cleans up beautifully with a roll back on the volume control, offering a swampy growl. The case is painted up in an aged gold finish, which looks stunning. Richard's work is as good as many global players charging thrice the dollars, so you're in for a treat.
Transistors: Mullard/Philips transistors. Q1: OC45, and Q2: OC79
Other components: 70's Mullard OA91 Diode. NOS Philips Electrolytic and Ero capacitors. Resistors are by Philips, Piherand Allen Bradley. Neutrik Jacks, Alpha 24mm Pots. Enclousre by Hammond, finished in Ultra Heavy Aged Gold Hammertone.
Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors is the project of local tonehound Richard Turner, based out a small studio in Dodges Ferry, near Hobart, Australia. Richard uses NOS and recycled specialist components to create deluxe fuzz, boost and treble boost pedals. Each pedal is point-to-point hand wired on hand-cut phenolic boards, using transistors from 1950-70s and capacitors and resistors from 1960-99. The enclosures are hand-finished, and sent in plastic-free packaging.
