Warwick Pro Series Star Bass Black 2011

Warwick Pro Series Star Bass Black 2011

Warwick Pro Series Star Bass, black, MIK 2011 approx. This is a very, very cool bass. The first take on the Pro Series was made in Korea, and was Warwick's first take at making a pro-quality instrument outside their home in Germany. They were widely hailed as brilliant instruments: excellent build quality, well designed, simple and clean aesthetic... all class. There's some classically Wwarwick features like a wenge fretboard, adjustable nut, angles tuners and brass frets, but this is obviously quite a departure from their better-known Thumb and Corvette models. It's a comfy player; the neck is chunky but sensible and it's all nicely weighted and balanced, and the hollow body really lets you feel the notes ringing around when it's in your hands. The real magic is in the tone: it's got a thick, saucy growl with a huge low end and an airy, open midrange with a heap of harmonic complexity. There's a lot to love here, this is a top notch rock and roll bass with a heap of mojo.
