Yamaha RBS50 Cherry Sunburst 1993

Yamaha RBS50 Cherry Sunburst 1993

Yamaha RBS50, cherry burst, made in Taiwan 1993. It's simple, it's a bit understated, but it's pretty darn good. These mid 90s Yamaha basses are always really well made, and the neck on this one shows it: the thing feels great. At 3.8kg, it's a nice lightweight item, so if you're after a comfy playing rumblestick for long gigs this will do nicely. The tone: proper P punch on the front with heaps of weighty rounded lows, paired with a gregarious growl on the bridge pickup that balances really nicely to a pleasing hi-fi snap with both on. Plus, I like the bold black logo, it has a brash confidence.
