Onyx Custom Craft HSS Superstrat Red Crackle 1989

Onyx Custom Craft HSS Superstrat Red Crackle 1989

Onyx Custom Craft superstrat in Red Crackle, made in Korea in 1989. Onyx was a project of an Australian instrument importer and distributor in the '80s and '90s; they made a stack of Fender and Gibson style, instruments as well as some shred-flavoured offerings out of Japan and Korea. Their Custom Craft series show their top of the line limited run models. This one is appointed with a floating bridge and a fancy Red Crackle finish, neck/headstock binding and shark tooth inlays. It's superbly comfy with spades of '90s shred steeze, very comparable in feel to RG's at the time. The HSS set of DiMarzio pickups and individual switching give you plenty of tonal options. Plugged in, it sounds great with plenty of depth and a throaty bite. Doubt we'll see another any time soon. What a gem!
